These photos show the development from June 2023 to August 2024 in the construction of the computer room for Mercy Mainflower Academy. This infrastructure is necessary for the ongoing registration of the school, and this will form the start of a Junior Secondary School on the site.
This JSS is essential, so our kids can progress beyond grade six. Junior Secondary Schools are a new initiative of the Kenyan Government for years 7, 8 and 9 and there are few options for our kids if we don’t build our own.
To have a computer room at the school will also be a great community asset, as government communications and access to services are quickly becoming digitised to force progress. Our community at Mercy does not have the skill set nor the ready access to digital services, so business and individuals quickly become disadvantaged compared to their city counterparts.
